Hand Sewn Hats
CockedHats.com produces hand crafted and hand sewn eighteenth century cocked hats plus other style hats for officers, gentlemen, soldiers, sailors and those who desire the most authentic re-creations for their period impression.
Our eighteen century hand sewn cocked hats and other style hats are:
- Researched and fully documented
- Crafted by hand
- All sewing including the linings and bindings are done by hand (no machines)
- Materials are correct for the period
- Made by us in our shop in Western Maryland, USA
Each hat is crafted as a one of a kind re-creation of an original eighteenth century hat - not a mass produced souvenir style hat.
CockedHats.com has crafted cocked hats and other styles for members of the Brigade of the American Revolution, British Brigade, Continental Line, museums and individuals who recreate famous eighteenth century figures. You may have seen General George Washington wearing one of our cocked hats as he recreated the crossing of the Delaware River in 2009 and 2010.
Machine Sewn Hats
CockedHats.com also offers machine sewn historical hats 1700 - 1920. The machine sewn models are appropriate for ceremonial, theatrical plus entry-level re-enactor wear. These hats are period correct patterns and materials made for us by one of the premier hat makers in the USA. They feature leather hat liners rather than hand sewn linen hat liners.
